5 Ways to Feel Better Now!

Sometimes we are so trapped in the moment that we fail to see the easy ways we can begin to shift our mood.  One of the most basic components of our emotional world are our thoughts.  Thoughts can lead to emotional reactions.  Recognizing what we are thinking, being aware of our inner monologue and what we are saying to ourselves, especially the repetitive statements is incredibly important.  Unfortunately, the nature of the brain is that frequently used pathways become stronger.  That's why practicing is so important when it comes to playing an instrument.  The repetitive motion of your fingers on the guitar or piano creates links in the brain that increase processing and reaction to the visual and audio cues you are creating, making it easier to play and improvise. We forget that those same idea would mean that what we are thinking is what we will be feeling and creating.  If we're constantly engaging in negative self talk, our experience of the world will be more negative.  So many studies have shown that our mental attitude is important for how we feel about our lives.  If we feel people are untrustworthy, if we see the world as cruel; we tend to only see the evidence for our beliefs, and completely discount anything that contradicts our strongly held belief.  If we believe our family takes us for granted, we put much more weight on the times that they did not come through for us than the times that they did.  So what, they cooked us dinner?  Came to our baseball games? Went out of the way to listen to my problems?  They're supposed to do that, they're family.

The experiences we code as "negative" impact us so much more than "positive" as well.  Studies show that troubling images and negative words impact the brain 5xs as much as good or uplifting images or words.  Why is that?  Scientists postulate that it may have to do with survival.  Threats to our livelihood needed to have a greater impact on our minds so we could take swift action.

So what does all this mean for feeling better?  On the bright side, it means that your emotions are pliable, and that a little bit of effort can completely alter our mental state.  Many times we just accept our feelings and think there is nothing we can do to change it.  "It is what it is!" We say.  That's where a perspective shift can come in handy.  Here are some simple ways to feel better now, right now.

1.  Write down how you are feeling.
Grab a paper and pen, or sit at the computer, and just begin to write it all down.  Thoughts carry an energy that can be released when you express them.  Writing, especially, is wonderful for this because getting your thoughts down linearly make them easier to process.  Sometimes, when we are upset, we get into circular thinking in which we are constantly thinking about the problem.  Simply write them down, put them in an email to us if you want! (miylana@aol.com) Try to use the space of writing to process where the thoughts and feelings are coming from.

2.  Shake it off.
Literally! No really!  Get up.  This is so helpful whether you are feeling angry or sad.   Put on some high tempo music and just shake it off.  Move around.  Dance if you want to.  Allow yourself to really express the anger and try to visually imagine physical energy dropping off you into the ground where it can be processed.  If you're feeling sad, watch that sluggish grief fall away and reveal the abundance of joy you have at your core.

3.  Go out in nature.
Nature has such a healing and beneficial effect on us.  Studies show that just 20 minutes in nature can greatly change the way our brain is processing information.  Go someplace quiet and sit.  Notice the natural world around you.  Or go for a walk, and let the movement and changing landscape help to quiet your mind.  We often forget that we are an aspect of nature that has, for many of us, removed ourselves from the natural world.  Being in a natural setting calls to the part of us that is nature itself.  Did you know the mineral compositions found in the ocean are also found in the human body, at the same percentages?  This fact alone implies just how much apart of nature we are; and how much it is apart of us.

4.  Imagine being someplace peaceful.
If you can't leave for a walk or dance, maybe you are at work, then go someplace for 10 minutes and visualize somewhere that makes you happy and is peaceful. Breathe deep, and imagine being there.  Studies show that the areas of the brain in charge of perception and the areas of the brain responsible for imagination are very similar.  That means that our brains don't necessarily know the difference between when we see the beach when we are there on the weekend, and when we are imagining being at the beach when we are actually sitting at the desk.  Conjure the feeling of your special place with all of your five senses.  The imagination is incredibly powerful.  Think about what this means when you are imagining potential negative scenarios in your mind or watching negative TV- your brain may think that those bad things are actually happening to you and may create a stress response in you.  And we wonder why we are stressed out!?

5.  Think positive thoughts.
If these other options aren't working for you, then we suggest consciously thinking positive thoughts or words.  Affirmations are an example of positive thinking that helps to re-wire a brain that is used to negative thinking.  You have to start somewhere!  Look at happy videos online, or funny pictures.  Surround yourself in your office and home with images that make you happy or are inspiring to you.  Even just thinking positive words like beauty, love, kindness, gentleness, caring, joy, abundance, happiness, and etc. can start to do the work of creating a neutral mindset, if not a positive one.  Remember that negative experiences have 5x the impact of positive ones, so that means it will take 5xs the effort to set you just back to neutrality after something that's upset you, like an argument or a stressful car ride, etc.

The thing that is most distressing is when people don't do these simple tasks to feel better because they don't think it's worth it, or think that they don't deserve to feel better.  The simple fact that these exercises work is proof enough to me that it is your right to feel better! Why else would it be so easy to alter your attitude?  If you can do it, why wouldn't you do it?  Your mind is a bundle of synapses and chemicals that work together to create a rough estimation of what's happening around and to you.  For the most part, many of us just let it do it's thing and think that if we are feeling bad, we must deserve it on some level.  Why else would we be feeling this way?  Studies show though, that so much of those emotions are arbitrary, or dictated by survival instincts that aren't compatible with today's world.  We can use the way our minds' work to improve our lives, so let's do it!  You deserve to feel good.  All it takes is a change of perspective!  Let me know how it goes!

Why It's Important to Take Care of Yourself.

Recently, many clients have been saying that they feel pulled towards helping others. People are feeling more altruistic, and like that is where there passion and purpose lies. And that's wonderful! We're becoming so much better at reading each other. Caring for each other is a wonderful step towards moving the world in the direction it needs to go!

What happens, though, is that sometimes in our effort to assist others; we run ourselves ragged. We forget to take care of ourselves.

Taking care of ourselves is so important now. We are all connected, so even if you are bending over backwards to help another; if you yourself don't feel good, they can (and do!) absorb that feeling. This wonderful article on emotional contagions from Psychology Today cites many studies that show when someone is feeling unhappy, the people around them can begin to feel bad too! It is much easier to bring people down than it is to build them up. If you feel tired, it is much more likely that someone's bad mood will effect you. Protecting yourself from another's moods and anxiety is important but challenging if you're overwhelmed. Conjuring the presence of mind and awareness that someone around you is affecting you is much harder if you are tired, or are not feeling fulfilled yourself.

As much as some of us would like to, we cannot actually take care of others to the extent we would like. We cannot make others happy, we cannot truly help them to feel better. In the end, everyone's personal happiness is the result of their own choice.  All of you have met people we can see have met with incredible challenges who face each day with exuberance and gratitude. We have, also, all known people who have been given much help and benefits in life who are miserable and seem stuck. What is the difference between these two people? It is their own attitude. While it is so tempting to think that if we just gave more, we might be able to convince someone to change for the better, or give up harmful habits; all we can really do is let them know that we care and express our love in our words and deeds. If you are constantly putting yourself last after others, you are doing yourself - and them - a disservice.

In the end, the only person who can make you happy is yourself! Taking care of yourself, doing what you need to do to feel better and making yourself a priority is a wonderful way to inspire other's to do the same. Give permission to yourself to feel good, and you'll be a better influence on the people in your life to take care of themselves. What's more, even if people act like they need the help, your running around doing everything for them can sometimes make others feel guilty, like they are incapable themselves, or makes them feel like they should do the same. Everyone is running, and no one is getting anywhere. There are many reasons we do this.

We feel like we have to keep up.
We don't feel like we deserve to rest or feel good while others are working so hard or feeling bad.
We simply forget to stop and take a breather.
We feel like there is too much to do.
We don't recognize that we need a break.
We fear other's judgement.
We don't want to look at something we've been avoiding.
We think there is someone in our lives who won't let us take a break.

In the end, we must give ourselves permission to relax. Feel like you don't have time? Go somewhere, close the door, and take 10 minutes to just sit. Look at your schedule, and see if you can't rearrange it for something you enjoy that you haven't been able to do recently, even if all that entails is taking a bubble bath and reading a favorite book. If it's been awhile since you've done something for yourself, and you can't really remember what it is that used to help you to relax then take the time to sit down and remember the last time you truly felt at peace and try to recreate that.

You really are not a help to anyone a stressed out basket case. Just like you want the people in your life that you care about to be happy; they also want you to be happy. Why do we feel like we have to do it all? It is time to slow down and go within. You need fuel to do everything you want to do, so that means letting your system rest. We can help each other much more easily if we have the resources and energy to do so. So, go take some time for you!

Your Sixth Sense - How are you using yours?

We are all blessed with many senses. Of course we are well versed on the five senses as those are most natural to us at this time. But what if the so-called sixth sense was also just as natural to us, and most of us are using it and don't even realize it. As with all of our senses some of us have more pronounced senses than others. Since we are usually not taught about our sixth sense the same way we know about our other senses. We may not realize how often and how much we are using this, our amazing sixth sense.

Have you ever start thinking about someone and a specific thing pertaining to them? Then they suddenly call or message you. This isn't a coincidence, this one is quite common. We tend to communicate with others or know what they are thinking or feeling even if we are no where near them. This is one example of our sixth sense. We can feel and know things before they happen, pick up an object and read the person or place it belongs to. We can read the people around us without a word spoken. We may get thoughts or feelings that come out of the blue and think they must be our own. But are they? We may be able to see, hear, feel or know, future events. There are so many ways that our sixth sense can show up in our lives.

Being clairvoyant, clairaudient, clairsentient and empathic, which means, I see, hear, feel things among others. It was such a relief to finally find teachers and mentors to help me understand what was happening and how to use these as the gifts they are meant to be instead of the curse they felt like. The more I understood what was going on. That these were gifts to help teach me and others, that I was able to hear, see, feel, angels, guides, people that have passed and even the people around me. Which can be very overwhelming more often than not especially with everything that is going on in our world today. But without the knowledge that I now have, I would have never been able to handle it. It would just make me feel overwhelmed, anxious and like I was losing my mind. I think we have all had enough of that in these last few years. As we are transitioning we are becoming even more sensitive. Having more experiences that we may seem strange if we are only looking with our five senses.

I believe we are all blessed with gifts. Each of us having them show up in our life in many different ways. The more we learn and understand how to use them to help ourselves and others. The easier it is to trust what you may be experiencing, but first we need to learn more about these gifts so we can be more aware when they are happening. Learning more about the way we work and practicing is a wonderful way to enhance your journey. Whether you know and have been using them or just beginning. Come join us at our Spiritual Development Class and be with like-minded people and just have some fun learning about your gifts.

You Can Only See It When You Believe It!

You may have heard that saying many times by now or not! LOL. The amazing thing about knowing the concept and really feeling it makes all the difference. The way we create is with the feeling even more than just the thought. If you know something and really believe it, that is what shows up in your life. When we really believe, we have a lot of emotion behind that belief. The concept is the beginning of understanding that we create, perceive and experience our reality by what we believe to be true.  To actually get the concept from your head to your heart can take some time and practice.

The first thing you really need to know is what you believe to begin with. If we didn't know we  believe that you can't trust people, when we meet someone we may not know, just how wary we really are of trusting them. Especially since we feel we have trusted others and they have hurt us.  I often hear people say "I'm very trusting. I trust people until they prove they can't be trusted which they do all the time." This common belief that we can't trust is often taught to keep us safe from getting taken advantage of and hurt. (For the most part, most people really aren't trying to do that.) A lot of us have been taught you can only trust your family, they are the only ones that will be there for you. Who do you suppose are the first people to hurt your feelings and make you feel like you can't trust them?  Your family!  They are the closet people to you and the ones that matter the most especially when we are young. So if we feel we can't even trust them and we have been taught they are the only people you can, what are the chances we will go out in the world very wary of trusting anyone and get hurt again.  This belief is strong and has a strong foundation in our society today. So each time you meet someone and feel that is what is happening again, you cement the belief in as truth! We are very good at proving our beliefs, it is actually our job. This is a very simplistic view just to give you an idea, of course there is more to how we do this and continue to prove we are right!

When working on creating our life the universe is there to help. We are creating whether we know it or not. Pay attention to what you put out with not just your thoughts, but with your feelings. You can easily start to see that what you feel and think: is the way you are experiencing your life.  To change it and create something new we have to change the old to something new with not only the way we think but the emotions to go along with the new thoughts.  Staying positive can be difficult at times but if your thought process is only on the negative,  it will just help you continue to create from the old belief. It will then show up again and the vicious cycle continues, keeping you stuck feeling that this is true and that's all there is to it. This in turn may make us close our hearts feeling like that is what you should learn from this situation, never knowing that it is our perception from our belief that is helping us create it again.

It is time for us to take the next step on our journey because whether we like it or not, all of our beliefs are hitting us upside our heads, hopefully helping us to finally learn and stop repeating the same old patterns. Trust your intuition, somewhere inside you know there is more, that we are all here for a bigger reason, a bigger purpose. Embrace the lessons that we are here to learn, open your heart as love has always been the answer.  Love to you all on this amazing journey of transition!  Janice

Channeling for What The Bleep Is Going On? Workshop

Channeling for What The Bleep Is Going On? Workshop 10/2/2014

We are here to over come our limited thinking, our limited perceptions of our existence. We are powerful spirits that have embarked on a journey of freedom. Freedom of our spirit to recognize in others and ourselves our greatness as true creators, as the manifestation of the universe, as one and all together, creating our universe and rising above our limited sight, beliefs, experiences to find as we strip away our fears, fear of the world, each other, the future, the past, that there truly is nothing that exists without our consent, our consent to participate in the evolution of our soul.

The universal consciousness as a being of the divine, we come together to raise the vibration out of fear, pain, illusion that all you see, hear and feel is formed from the energy that we have given it!

Focus your energy on love of self, faith in the divine, trust in yourself to follow your path to freedom, beyond the limits of time and space. We are one, connected by an invisible energy so strong and absolute that we not only affect our lives but the lives of others. The vibration of love is calling to us, to release, let go of our past injustices, our guilt, our fear, and embrace the light that is shining so brightly, calling you to let go of justification and proof of the illusion.

You can over come and reach for the stars! Let the affects of negativity be washed away, cleansed from your mind and body.

What The Bleep Is Going On ?

I am angry, frustrated and sick and tired of being sick and tired. Some of the common things I hear a lot these days. I have no time, I'm overwhelmed, stressed out and worried all the time. I don't want to be around people they are driving me crazy. I want a better life but there isn't enough money or enough time. I feel like I'm suffering from aches and pains that I have never had before. Just when I think things are getting better, something else happens. They are all happening at the same time, big small and everywhere in between. Everything is changing. I don't like what is happening in my life, my family, my relationships, my world. I don't know anyone that isn't going through major things in their life.

What the bleep is going on?  Why so much suffering, drastic change, lack, loss and fear? What we don't understand is this is the way are lessons are showing up in our lives. Each one of us is here to learn and grow, to be better humans as we evolve our spiritual souls to higher levels. It can be so hard sometimes to see how we are creating our lives, to make the changes that we so desperately want. We want it to stop, we just want to be happy! As Albert Einstein said " No problem can be solved by the same consciousness that created it."  We are using the same perceptions that created the problems and the universe is trying to make them large enough so you can see through the illusion. See behind the curtain per se... Instead we are getting stuck between two worlds, the world where your joy and happiness lies and the world of more pain and suffering. The do over and over and over world is getting old to most of us.  Which hopefully is finally having us question more and more. Talk about miracles each day, we live in a constant miracle albeit one of do over lessons. But what are the odds that can happen? I would bet we can all win the lottery with those odds. It is time to catch the not so subtle repeat of the same old feelings, same old thoughts, new day and really do something different? We can think and feel differently, we can go to the next level of consciousness. It is time to take the leap, the leap of faith, belief and trust. Come join us and take the next step

Common Relationships Beliefs - Are they getting in your way ?

What we have learned about having a relationship compared to what we think a relationship should be are two different things. We want what we think our relationship should be but get what we really believe!  The saddest part is most people don't know what they believe about relationships. They may tell you what they want in one, but they usually don't have that. Relationships can get tougher and tougher because of our subconscious believes, even though we will try different approaches we may still end up with the same results, failure, closing our hearts more and more. We feel that in relationships we tried it all, from "being in the other person's shoes" or "understanding" even "lets do it your way" to "just giving up".

It can be difficult to have a relationship with the common believes we are taught about each other and relationships. Men are only after one thing! Sex! More men are taught to go out have sex, pat on the back. Woman are taught if you do then you are a slut, although with the changes today we have more women doing that. A common belief about women is they only want one thing: Money! Although if you ask women they say Love. We hear and experience so many negative things about each other some include men are cheaters, immature, scared of commitment, stubborn, irresponsible, selfish, poor communicators, etc. Women are crazy, wanting money, self centered, knifing, cheaters, etc. Wrong! Women and men are loving, caring, kind, giving, good listeners, emotional etc. Its just our perceptions on how we see one another man or woman and relationships.  We have to break the cycle and start changing the way we think and believe because we will continue to receive the same results of the negative point of view on relationships.

The first few months we suspend our believes otherwise we wouldn't fall in love, we would run if we saw what we believed and sometimes we do, just to prove again that we are right. Right about men, about women about relationships. We may rush into relationships constantly believing that being single is a terrible thing. Being alone allows us to take time on learning about ourselves what we like to do and what we would like with a significant other.

Maintaining what you have in the beginning of the relationship is possible. Yes people do change and their mindset changes too but the key is to do that together and when you do the relationship can stay stronger and more passionate. Communication becomes stronger and easier, and also the interest in one another.

Come join us and learn to make your relationships better!
